Have you ever met a person and you thought “wow they are SO interesting!” [Spoiler alert: that’s not me] You know the type though – maybe they are very accomplished in their career, are an amazing athlete, or travelled the world. So you prepare yourself to be blown away with their stories …but then they just fall flat? You can’t help but think that the story your sister-in-law told you about a baby diaper explosion on the weekend was way more interesting than hearing about a new mountain peak on the other side of the world. How is that even possible?
I realized the stories I like the best aren’t about amazing life changing experiences – they are about the time you got recruited for a pyramid scheme or got ridiculously lost on a vacation and thought you’d never make it home. So these are my stories. My ordinary every day stories that I like to tell to my friends. The stories who make me who I am. A very ordinary girl with ordinary awkward stories. I may not be the storyteller who is going to change your life, but I do hope some of my stories make you think of a time you did something equally stupid or awkward. Feel free to contact me and tell me your ordinary stories – as long as they aren’t life changing. Don’t tell me about finding world peace, curing some weird disease or anything like that, because who has time for something that extraordinary 😉
